This course offers a hands-on, safety-first introduction to modern manufacturing environments. Each module prepares students to meet industry expectations from day one.
Course Components:
• OSHA 10 & Safety 101
Provides foundational knowledge in occupational safety standards, hazard recognition, and safe practices to reduce workplace injuries.
• Forklift Training
Teaches the operational principles of powered industrial trucks, ensuring participants are certified and prepared for material handling tasks.
• Fire Extinguisher Training & Certification
Covers fire prevention and emergency response, with practical experience in selecting and using extinguishers correctly.
• Workplace Communication & Documentation
Builds competency in reading work orders, filling out job logs, and engaging in clear, professional communication with team members and supervisors.
• Intro to Quality Control
Introduces basic quality assurance practices such as defect detection, measurement standards, and the importance of consistent output.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Awareness
Provides awareness of procedures that ensure machines are properly shut off and not started up again before maintenance is complete.
• Lean Manufacturing & 5S Basics
Explains principles of workplace efficiency, waste reduction, and the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to foster a clean, productive environment.
